Ugly Lies The Bone

Roundabout Theatre has announced the world premiere of another play about a woman in the US military who is coming home from war.  Ugly Lies The Bone by Lindsey Ferrentino takes this concept in a different direction, with a protagonist who is injured and uses technology to heal — via video game therapy — rather than to continue waging war.  However, it speaks to the larger conversation we’re having in contemporary theater, of which Grounded is an important part.

As we see in Grounded, looking through the eye of a drone allows us to see things we never could otherwise.  While this has dramatic implications for the military, it’s also being used by photographers to explore different worldviews.
